Acesta a prezentat întotdeauna o mare varietate de stiluri, culori, accesorii și broderii decorative. Odată cu dezvoltarea societății moderne, kimonoul a devenit un simbol internațional al culturii japoneze, cu un accent deosebit pe broderia sa bogată și decorativă.
