Item ЕВРЕЙСКИЕ ПЕСНИ М. This article analyzes three Jewish songs by M. Ravel for voice and piano. The first piece, “Chanson hébraïque”, belongs to the vocal cycle Folk Songs, arranged by M. Ravel for voice and piano in 1910 and awarded at the Fifth Song House Competition in Moscow. The remaining two songs constitute the mini-cycle ‘Deux mélodies hébraïques”, composed at the request of soprano A. Alvi. The author examines the poetic text, the structure of the vocal melody, and its connection with the piano accompaniment. Special attention is given to the issues of piano texture, which contribute to a deeper revelation of the artistic content. A comparative analysis of several interpretations of the vocal cycle is proposed. These collaborations include the Italian mezzosoprano C. Bartoli performing with South Korean pianist and conductor M. W. Chung; the Belgian bass-baritone José van Dam in partnership with the American pianist D. Baldwin; and the Canadian operatic baritone G. Finley accompanied by the British pianist J. Drake. A comparative examination of the mentioned above interpretations of the vocal cycles based on folk melodies, reveals the richness of their interpretative possibilities and provides deeper insight into the composer’s artistic intentions.
