dc.description.abstractAutorul îşi propune să contureze unele aspecte ale stilurilor de jazz New Orleans şi Chicago, să sublinieze importanţa factorilor etnici, geografici şi legali asupra apariţiei stilului New Orleans Jazz la începutul anilor 1900 şi dezvoltarea acestuia, ulterior, în Chicago Style în anii ’20 ai sec. XX. În mod special este remarcat factorul benefic predecesor al acestor stiluri — evoluţia orchestrelor stradale de fanfară (marching bands), spirituals, blues şi ragtime şi trăsăturile lor stilistice, — improvizaţia colectivă şi principiul responsorial (call-and-response), care au stat la baza muzicii jazz în general. În acest context, este menţionat rolul contrabasului în perioada studiată a jazzului clasic.en_US
dc.description.abstractThe author aims to outline some aspects of the New Orleans and Chicago Jazz styles, to show the importance of the ethnic, geographical, and legal factors in the emergence of New Orleans Jazz in the early 1900s and its later derivation into the Chicago Style in the 1920s. There are examined the beneficial predecessor factors of these styles — the evolution of street brass band orchestras (marching bands), the spirituals, the blues and ragtime and their stylistic features, collective improvisation, the call-and-response principle, that have been the base for the development of jazz music in general. In this context, mention is made of the role of the double bass in the examined period of classical jazz.
